Sales and Usage Reporting

These are the DDEX standards that are relevant to Sales and Usage Reporting. Each standard is presented in more than one version, which reflects the development of the standards as new business models and requirements have been identified. You are advised to either use the most recent version of each relevant standard or agree which version is to be implemented with your business partners. DDEX has developed one message suite standard in both XML format and flat file format, one business profile standard and one choreography standard which support sales and usage reporting.

Digital Sales Reporting Message Suite Standard

This standard provides a suite of messages that give a uniform mechanism to enable Licensees (typically Digital Service Providers) to report to Licensors (typically Music Rights Societies and/or Record Companies) sales and usage of Products based on Releases. In addition the standard can be used to provide information regarding the revenue generated from the distribution of such Products, to the relevant Licensors of the Releases, the Sound Recordings and/or Music Audio-Visual Recordings (and other Resources) contained in the Releases and the Musical Works embodied in the Sound Recordings and/or Music Audio-Visual Recordings. Business Profile Standard: Sales and Usage Reporting to Music Rights Societies

This business profile standard is a sub-set of the Digital Sales Reporting Message Suite Standard which enables sales and usage reporting from digital retailers  to music rights societies for certain specific business models.

Choreography Standard for Digital Sales Reporting

This choreography standard provides a uniform way to efficiently exchange sales and usage reporting between participants in the digital supply chain. It is based on a common Message Exchange Protocol Standard.
