Supporting Standards

These are the standards that can be used in support of the use of the other DDEX standards. The means by which these standards interrelate with the other standards is explained in the supporting documentation. Each standard is presented in more than one version, which reflects the development of the standards as new business models and requirements have been identified. You are advised to either use the most recent version of each relevant standard or agree which version is to be implemented with your business partners. DDEX has developed the message exchange protocol standard, the digital signature standard, the data mismatch message standard, the DDEX Party Identifier standard and the data dictionary standard.

Message Support Standards

Automated Message Exchange Protocol Standard

This standard describes how DDEX message suite standards and other data, such as content files, can be exchanged using FTP and/or Web Services. It is used in conjunction with the choreography standards associated with the message suite standards.

Digital Signatures Standard

This standard describes how DDEX messages can be signed so that a recipient knows they have received a message in its entirety and that it has not been corrupted in transit.

Data Mismatch Message Suite Standard

This standard describes a message format for alerting business partners of data mismatches. Over time the use of this standard amongst businesses operating in the digital supply chain should raise data quality.

Identifiers and Dictionary Standards

DDEX Party Identifier Standard

This standard describes an identification system used to identify each sender and receiver of a DDEX message and how the identification allocation process is undertaken. Each party implementing DDEX messages is alliocated a DDEX Party Identifier.

Data Dictionary

This standard defines all the terms used in the DDEX messages including the semantics associated with them and the process by which the dictionary is updated.
