Works Licensing
DDEX's works standards provide a suite of messages that give a uniform mechanism to enable compies to request and to be granted licences for using the musical works that are embedded in Releases. The works licensing standards are typically used by DSPs and/or record companies to request licences work music rights societies and/or music publishers and for such societies and publishers to provide licences and/or licence rejections.
DDEX has also defined how to physically exchange such licence requests and grants, alongside supporting documentation, for the licensing of physical products in Canada.
Previous versions of the works licensing standards can be found here. Supporting standards used by the Release delivery standards can be found here.
